Don’t Convert Sample Rate on Import Preference
In some workflows, it is common for production audio to be recorded at 48.048 kHz to accommodate for a pull down to 48 kHz applied downstream in the workflow. When importing audio at this special sample rate, Pro Tools can either sample rate convert the file to 48 kHz, or pull the file down to 48 kHz in real time during playback.
If you plan to import audio at 48.048 kHz and want Pro Tools to apply the 48 kHz pull down in real time, follow the procedure below:
To set the Don’t Convert Sample Rate on Import Preference:
1 Open the Preferences dialog by clicking File>Preferences.
2 Select the Processing tab.
3 In the Import section, find the Don’t Convert Sample Rates on Import preference setting.
4 Enable that preference to activate real-time pull down for 48.048 kHz audio files.
